Serenity's Training -Part One-

This is a story about the training of HAF Black Caviar, otherwise known as Serenity. Prior to her training here at Attle Creek, she was being rehabilitated for her aggression and trust issues towards humans at Eastwind Equestrian Center.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was late, around two in the morning, when we heard the rumble of the trailer slowly getting closer. When the truck had pulled in and our newly acquired trainer, Summer McQueery, went out to bring the mare in, Summer was more than surprised to find her just waking up from a nice slumber during the trip here.

By the time Summer had Serenity out of the trailer, the sun was already beginning its journey up into the sky. Summer released Serenity into her paddock. The paddock had an ocean view and was on the very edge of the Attle Creek facility. Serenity seemed to enjoy looking out at the ocean as the sun rose.

When morning came, Summer had retrieved Serenity from her paddock and brought her into the indoot training area, where Summer had set up a line of four ground poles. After allowing her to sniff them, Summer gently tugged the lead rope as she she began to walk over them. But, Serenity didn't want to follow her, instead she chose to rear a few times before calming down.

"Woah, Serenity. It's okay. They're just ground poles, sweety. We'll try again when you're ready." Summer said as she soothed the nervous mare. Summer then released Serenity back into her paddock by the ocean for the day.

But, Summer was sure to get some productivity from the mare that day, even if she was just hanging around in her paddock. She set a single pole down in the center of it, so Serenity could get use to them, and so she could possibly try it out on her own.

And she did just that. But, that doesn't mean she'll do it while being led in a ring by Summer. Serenity wasn't about to make her training as easy as pie, no she'd have to make it as hard as she could.
